Office for Dispute Resolution » Stakeholder Council

In 2009, the Bureau of Special Education and the Office for Dispute Resolution solicited stakeholder groups to self select representatives to sit on the newly constituted ODR Stakeholder Council. The purpose of the SC was and is to bring together representatives from a broad array of stakeholders to provide functional input and recommendations on the special education dispute resolution system. A critical role of the SC is to interview and make recommendations as to selection of due process hearing officers. The membership consists of three parent advocates; a representative from the gifted education community; a school district attorney; a school district staff representative; a Parent Training and Information Center representative; an autism community representative; a parent attorney; a higher education representative; an intermediate unit representative and ODR counsel. The SC is subject to Operating Procedures which it drafted and voted on.
